just use some pro-s you'll be fine.

As far as I am concerned, royal purple is an unnecessary expense.

After looking into different oils it looks like the main 3 highly regarded oils are RP, redline and amsoil.

I'm no oil expert, I did find a good source of information on a forum that compared a large range of performance oils and the properties of each but I can't find it again Sad

In future, I really would recommend 10W50 pro s. I personally think that Rich only sells and recommends rp as he has a market due to the lack of distributors and not for any tangible performance reasons. A well buit high boost engine isn't really all that highly strung and should be happy with a good oil.

I used rp once in my low boost and then used pro s for 40k charged and about 5k na.

I will more than likely change to a different oil when the next service is due but I'm not keen in cross contaminating oils

I don't personally see the need for this expense?! A well cooled good oil is has always been fine on my 230hp N/A track engine revving to 8k

So what you're saying then Craig, is that Rich is out to rip people off, because he can?

That's ridiculous in my opinion, we can ALL obtain Royal Purple XPR 20w50 from a supplier, the fact that Rich sells it *cheaper* than anywhere else (to my knowledge) is a credit to the service he's provided over the years, certainly to myself and others. The last batch I got from Rich came direct from the suppliers, he didn't even have the chance to 'add a bit on top' before the oil reached me.

If that's your opinion then fine, but remember what guys like Rich have brought to the forum over the years, much more than anyone could have ever have imagined when they first joined up. To say he's a rip off merchant is just simply way too strong and uncalled for. Yes
