As the title says ,I require the elbow pipe and the little pipe that goes into it and connects next to the idle control valve.need to be in good condition

Then hopefully this will fix my problems.

The car wont idle , it cuts out and hunts, I have replaced the idle control valve, disconnected the lambda sensor, and power steering plug.none of that made a difference.

So I then checked for air leaks were I found to be coming from the breather I fitted.I only fitted that as I got a induction kit. I took the breather off and but my finger on the end then started it.which I notice was some kind of vacuum and when my finger was over it , it idled fine.

Air leaks in front of the ICV and throttle body won't affect idling as they won't cause a variance between the calculated airflow and the actual airflow into the engine. Any such leaks will just mean the engine could be sucking in some unfiltered air, if the leak is after the filter.

You need to be looking for air leaks after the throttle body, such as the throttle body gasket, inlet manifold gasket, air resonator, etc.

You should get vacuum there, as that's where the engine draws its airflow from at idle when the throttle is closed. Blocking the feed to the ICV should cause the engine to stall.

Your symptoms suggest either the ICV is not reset correctly, in which case leaving the battery disconnected for about 10 minutes may solve it, or you have an air leak somewhere after the throttle body.

If the ICV pipe is number 3 below:

Then I doubt you'll find one that's not about to split or already split. Plus they're £42.55+VAT from pug. What most people do is just buy a breather filter (internal diam ~19mm) and put it on the end of a piece of pipe from the ICV. Easier and probably cheaper than a 2nd hand one that'll fall apart.

Ok cheers woody, I will just buy the pipe that goes on the end of the icv,.as I was thinking of getting rid of the induction kit (but I do like the induction noise) and going back to standard
