Have thought about it, but they're big and fairly dull to drive by all accounts. I think I would get a golf GTD if I went down that route

I've driven a few off the old shape GPs, with the super-charger, rather than the newer turbo engines. You can't help but kind them. Really fun little cars.
I still think minis are massively over priced, but they do hold their value.
And , as has been said, the build quality is a bit rubbish.

Why does it have to be new? I would rather spend that cash on a year old/2 year old car than a new one and get something better?

Each to their own though, and if you like it that's what counts!

For that kind of budget id go for a meg rs265. If you get the sport you get plenty of nice gadgets and comforts too with very little loss in performance compared to the cup. Ive got the sport and love it
