Hi all. Im starting my project on the 6 and just thought id ask for advice on parts on the car that might be worth removing and selling as the project will probly be a year long. I dont want to get the car back on the road once completed and find out that parts have siezed/ perished/ corroded etc. i plan to replace a lot of parts anyway but any info will be muchly appreciated ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

Freshen it up, billy shocks, fresh rear mounts and decent discs and pads. Then hire a welder and we can trick out the old girl. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

As long as the parts aren't stressed at all they should be fine. So I'd have the car on axle stands front and rear to stop the tyres getting flat spots etc. Or as one member on here likes to do that works for him is shuffle it back a forth a few feet every now and then ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

Tyres and brakes would be the main things to worry about deteriorating/seizing etc, but if it is only a year should not be too bad. Depends what state they are in now though, and if the car is going to sit outside all that time. Is that the old swiftyboi Cherry P1? If so it looked really nice and deserves to be saved. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I love the retro style and rare factor. Thanks for the advice. I was mostly concerned about the brakes tbh. May get a new seal kit in that case ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

Brakes will be fine, pump them once or twice every couple of months to keep the pistons moving and seals free.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. Mine has been standing for over two years and the only thing I did was take out the plugs before turning it over to take the pressure off the engine while the oil got around everything. As said above, the tyres will get flattened if you leave them on. One key thing.DO NOT LEAVE THE HANDBRAKE ON! My 205 had to be dragged to free when I did it on that ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! jamiek_uk2000 wrote: DO NOT LEAVE THE HANDBRAKE ON! Ahh yes. That too. Im considering selling the clones with tyres on anyway as they will be replaced anyway. Also if the car is sat on axle stands, it might deter the gypo's from towing it off my drive!!! ________________________________________ DIABLO GTI-6 - Legend - NILE GTI-6 - SoldCHERRY GTI-6 P1 SUPERCHARGED - Broken up BLACK RALLYE - Sold 205 Dturbo xud9 work horse - Dead CHERRY RALLYE - new toy |

I assure you it won't, since I've had the car on my drive I think I had about ten gypo's want to take it over an 18 month period before I stripped it and since it's been stripped I've had about ten ask in the past 3 months. ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected!
