I'd guess just over 5 litres - normal engine is 4.5 I believe, extra litre or so for the cooler and pipes.

And it won't do any harm to fill up with the standard amount (maybe a little extra but not much), run it for a minute and after that check again how much is needed and top it up. After all, the amount between the marks on the dipstick is around one litre. It's not good to overfill it either..

Engine won't self destruct when the oil level is showing on the dipstick. If it goes way below the dipstick and the car is driven to a hard corner it may suffer from oil loss on the pump and cause a big end bearing failure.. But this should not be an issue on cars taken care of (ie. oil level checked often), usually the damage is done when a breather is clogged from some reason and the engine vomits the oil out.

Fill it up with 4.5 litres, then run the engine up to TEMP. You should have fitted a thermostatic plate, so running it up to temp will allow the oil to flow into the cooler, then switch the engine off and check the level.

This will give you an accurate reading. Smile

I did what Stan said when i recently refilled mine from scratch, got to the maximum mark before running, got it up to temp, turned off, let it settle then topped back up to max.
Used all 5 litres to fill the engine and two 13 row oil coolers. Smile

We told this to a guy that runs a kebab house near to me, he was seen the next day on the side of the road with the bonnet open scratching his head. I can't imagine how much oil it must have taken to fill it that far up
