Kia Ora (Hello) all,

I've been a lurker on this forum for a few years now as I've had a ratty but reliable (by pug standards) Ph2 GTI6. I was planning to build this as a track car, but had it stripped out when up popped a slightly damaged Ph3. I bought that for spares but when I got it home realised it was much nicer (bar the frontal damage) so cannibalised the Ph2 to repair it.

In the meantime I bought a 309gti with mi16 on carbs already caged & track prepped. My new plan is to swap the engine for the one in my original 6, and move the mi16 to my 205gti. I also have a 106 Rallye. Basically I've got half the fast pugs in NZ! Thumbs up

Yeah so that's me, looking forward to getting into the tech side of things a bit more & hoping the collective knowledge here can help me out with some advice along the way.

Cheers
Kyle

I think the reliabilty has been brought up a few times recently, in all fairness to Peugeot I think they made the 306 pretty well. Apart from the small area of rust that builds up on the rear quarter, the dodgy engine mount and God awful rear beam mounts they are pretty reliable. Mine has never failed to start and the only things that have been replaced are the parts I've upgraded or bent. I think they need someone to teach them how to paint cars though, the amount of 306's, especially the diablo ones that have bad paintwork is much higher than any other car I've ever seen.

Sorry to hijack with a long post, welcome to the forum. I think coming to a meet might be out of the question LOL

The pictures work, unfortunately those wheels do not LOL

However I'll let you off as every Kiwi girl I've ever met is a hottie, and I'm shallow like that. I think it's the accent.

Looks like you've had some fun in that 106 Yes

Haha yeah those are really old pics of my 6 (maybe four years old). I bought it with those disgusting huge wheels and had to search for ages for some cyclones (not that common over here) that were fitted as soon as I acquired them! Hopefully I can get some more recent ones off my phone & onto here.

The Kiwi accent is generally an improvement on some of the terrible ones I've heard coming out of the cakeholes of Pommy lasses!!! The girls are like anywhere- you have to apply the percentage rules, & try before you buy!

The 106 is perfect for some of the gravel roads here in NZ (think RallyNZ). It got me hooked on Pugs & I just love the thing, it's such a hoot! Only 30 or so Rallyes were imported here & a few have probably been wrecked so they're a pretty rare sight on the road.

Day'mn! Needs some coilovers & better track rubber methinks!

I don't know if you guys have 'official' Peugeot & Citroen clubs in the UK- sunhats at-the-ready on the parcel tray, picnic hamper & rug/deckchair in the boot styles? Average age around 70?
We are the take-the-p**s, car boot bush camping, next generation version. One of our members actually owns the internet...

Ha, I see that I've been moderated already! Sorry I'll try to be good No angel
In comparison we run things pretty free & easy over here so I'll have to test & adjust...

Also, some forums auto-size pictures to fit resolution- does this one? Are my pics about right or do I need to reduce sizes a bit? I have some more recent ones to upload when I get home.

Loving the Fastfrogs sticker, the tweed, the erm "improvised" gearbox mount made of natural materials and the 106 Rallye covered in mud. Did that 106 Rallye used to live in Wellington? Think I might have seen it (or a similar one) Thorndon some years ago. Great pics, keep it up.

It depends how long ago; I lived in Thorndon, Wellington 2010/11, so it may have been me if around that time. Before then it was in Auckland for 10+ years. There's only one other Rallye that I know of that is/was in the lower North Island.

Thanks, what are you over here doing? There have been quite a few changing hands of late, I recently moved a blaze Ph2, and have seen some tidy lower mileage examples for sale also. Be aware that we get Jap import versions badged as S16 that are RFS 6spd, as well as the S16 ACAV 5spd.
Feel free to join the Fastfrogs dribble for giggles if you are staying a while. We are planning a South Island camp around Mar next year if you're still here. It's like our roads here are made for Pugs, just a pity the automotive parts supply network isn't! Thumbs down

Lots of talk about doing it, but is just that due to cost- so no not that I'm aware of. You can always be a trendsetter though! Yes
