So i bought some second hand B8s a few months back and fitted them. When i fitted them, i put bump stops on them and i thought it looked like there was very little travel. It also barely dropped at all. I have since found out that B8s have a internal bump stop. Correct? If so, ill definately be removing the ones i fitted at the weekend seeing as i am literally riding on the bumpstops |

That must be the worlds stiffest suspension now then, just riding on a bumpstop?________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! Project Thread Looking for: VTS P1 Rack PR1.2 16" |

They do have internal hydraulic bump stops to prevent damage from over-compression of the rod, but that won't prevent the spring bottoming out so an external bump stop is still required. As for the lowering issue, what springs are you using? jamiek_uk2000 wrote: That must be the worlds stiffest suspension now then, just riding on a bumpstop? Nah, the foam bump stops on the front are surprisingly soft when you put a few hundred kilos on them. ________________________________________ Rich |

So do you need a shorter one then for the uprated shocks? I so where and what? I'm just waiting for some B8's to be ordered on payday so might aswell get the gear to go with it!________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! B8s with 30mm eibachs on. Tbh I'm not fussed if its low. That's never really been something that's bothered me. Just want it to be right that's all! Might just chop the bump stop in halfOh and you would be surprised. It's not that stiff but it goes round corners like its on rails at the moment lol. |

I used the OE bump stop with 25mm cut off it when i fitted B8's and 30mm eibachs on my 306. It never bottomed out or was mega stiff, handled the big compressions at high speed on the ring just fine________________________________________ 1999 Astor Grey GTi-6 OEM+ (now gone...)2004 Aegean Blue 206 GTi 180 (also gone...) 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS in Sprint Yellow honestly3k wrote: Do you wrestle for a living matt? Cool ill do that then. Even when th shock is unloaded when the car is jacked up, there's probably 30mm shaft between the shock body and the bump stop and I'm sure most of that is taken up when the car is put back on the ground. Anyone got any pics of their car on eibachs and b8s just so I can see roughly how low it should sit. |

I've seen the Powerflex universal bump stop kit, with the dust covers included. I know that it's Powerflex, but surely a bump stop can't be badClicky ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected!
