Hi folks,

Thought I would share my good fortune, rang ECP the other day to find out if part no. 436730100 was infact Magneti Marelli manufactured. Turns out it is so if you log onto carparts4less.co.uk (who are basically eurocarparts)....you can pick your ICV up for £67.20, and then by using discount code CP5LESS you can pick it up for a fiver cheaper still at £62.20 delivered. Thumbs up

Carparts4less.co.uk are cheaper listed than on the ECP website where same part is £93.60.
Carparts4less are basically DELIVERY ONLY. But I had to pick mine up from the local Yodel depot in Borehamwood.

My only gripe is it is supposed to come with a new O-ring seal which it didn't, plus I got a random screw which is pretty useless afaik LOL

My car has idled terribly for about the last 40K, stalling at junctions, dipping the clutch and after free revving so thought this price was too good to pass up considering the last time I checked at Peugeot a year ago for one of these it was £145 + VAT!!!

Guna go fit it now and pray that this cures my issues......

Being clean makes a huge difference as well. I recently cleaned off 16 years of black oily gunk off of mine and what a difference it made!

Mine has just started to blip slightly when I press the clutch and revs ever so slightly on idle. Damn good price TBF. Already tried cleaning it but made no difference

Well its been just about tolerable for that 40k as most of my driving is motorway.

So just been out for a quick 13mile blast and while it didn't stall when braking to a junction or dipping the clutch - didn't look like It wanted to either.

It does however, when I first start the engine, rev to about 2K rpm, then the needle drops to the low hundreds, like 300 or 400rpm, car shakes.....wants to stall but hasn't - this issue was present before.

So I will know more tomorrow after ive driven it around all day but im not convinced just yet it has solved my issue.

Ive got an almost brand new lambda sensor to go on too, but im thinking maybe it could be this PAS sensor ive read about too.

Time will tell....

Did you disconnect the battery for a while at some point? Usually after changing an ICV an ECU reset clears any remaining troubles I've found. You don't have to leave it disconnected for too long, 10 minutes usually does it.

Pas sensor imo. Just disconnect it and you will know after the first start

Ok just unplugged the PAS sensor, and this is how it behaved afterwards.
Please note the engine will be more or less cold at this point, generally my problems don't become apparent until shes hot.

This is me blipping the throttle then letting it idle, the rev counter rises very slightly after each blip and rest.

This is with the PAS sensor unplugged. I'm guna drive it around tomorrow with it unplugged.

Drive it high into the revs then put the clutch if that doesn't stall it ignore it Smile.

One thing I don't miss about these cars is the poxy idle.

So driven around all day with PAS sensor unplugged. And its idled perfectly!

Doesn't hunt when warm, and when switching the engine on when hot the revs don't fly up the counter then drop like a stone threatening to stall!

Strange, does that indicate anything?

With the PAS sensor plugged in it behaves a little unstably, but the new ICV has helped a hell of a lot I think

Bascially it just means that when plugged in your PAS sensor is sending a load of BS to your ECU and your ECU is rasising the idle to try and compensate but its actually a load of bulls**t.
Replace it and plug it back in and it should be fine, Or if you leave it unplugge dit should be ok also, but its likely it will rev quit elow and struggle occasionally at full lock as it isnt compensating for the drain o on the engine from the PAS pump

I've had good experiences with ultrasonic cleaning ICVs. Just drop the whole thing in the fluid and leave it buzzing for a while. The shaft from the ICV can be pulled off (gently though) so the cleaning fluid gets to all the small places inside it.

A small ultrasonic cleaner with heating shouldn't cost anything more than £50. I've one and used it several times to clean little bits of the car. Like ICVs, injectors, throttle bodies (won't fit there all the way but then I just turn it around a few times) greasy bolts and nuts. Works like charm and renews parts that aren't working correctly because they are dirty.

Tho' I've come across a few ICVs that were worn and needed replacing because of it.

For injectors it's better to wire them up to a 9v battery or something alike, 9v is usually enough for them to open. Some injectors need 6v and other 12v. I have it wired up while they are in the fluid and use a switch to open and close them. If I want to make them good as new I buy a set of seals, filter baskets and pintle caps beforehand (for example Mr. Injector sells these on ebay) and change them. Old parts are better to be removed before the cleaning to get the best results Smile

Had enough of my 6 stalling all the time even wound the throttle body open a little and it still does it. We have a trade account with euros with decent discount so I'll quote this part number to them and see what price they come up with. If their crap I'll do the same as you Wink.
