I let PP Motorsport make up some forged turbo pistons for my car and some forged conrods (1000+BHP rated) with ARP bolts.And ive made the biggest error ever, theyre for the RFS engine, the XU10J4RS engine , and not for my XU10J4 S16 engine what are my options? fitting a RFS lump isnt an option since almost everything from my turbokit is made to match the S16 Will a S16 head fit a RFS underblock? |

block and crank is the same, afaik the valve centrelines are the same, so will work ok as long as valve reliefs are large enough as the diameters vary between the two.S16 is NOT the J4R, its just J4. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Welsh, the RFS conrods are 10mm longer then the S16 one...ive been told my kit wont fit the S16 engine... Got more info? |

Oke then 6mm i didnt measure...But can i use them or not? cause i dont know s**t about the difference between these engines, and i feel gutted! |

XU10 Deck height is all 235mm.RFS conrod (158mm) and piston in RFS block, RFS crank (same crank and block as RFY)  RFY piston and rod (152mm) in the same block.  ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

So you could run a diesel crank as well if you machine off 1mm off the piston ? Then you have steel crank and 2.1  |

you need to figure out what the dish "should" be to give 8.5-1 on the RFS, then compare the differences and work from there.Std gasket thickness - RFS - 1.20mm. Gasket bore - 87mm. 1998cc / 4 = 499.5cc (per cylinder) Total clearance volume: 499.5cc / (8.5-1 compression ratio) = 58.77cc. Gasket volume : 87x87x3.14159x1.2mm = 7.13 RFS chamber Vol - 37cc. therefore dish should be circa 14.64cc. so: RFS dish + RFS gasket + RFY head 14.64cc + 7.13cc + 40cc = 61.77. 499.5 / 61.77 = 8.08-1. I believe that's all correct, sounds about right to  You do need to confirm how much lift @ TDC you can run. I did roughly measure the valve centres and they are the same between RFY and RFS at 40mm, also centreline distance from the side of the combustion chamber to the face of the valve measured in at the same 25mm, valve sizes are very close also, so if the piston designers have given you enough clearance on the radius of the valve cutout you'll be fine. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
