-----CAR IS NOW SOLD-----

Hi everyone,

please find further details about this car in this thread:
http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=154114

& from the template above.

Ignore the blacked out number plate, I posted pictures of the car on another forum and didn't wish to include the reg no. I'm more than happy to upload pictures with the car's reg if people so desire.

As it currently stands, I have covered approximately 1750 miles in this car without incident, save for oscillating rpm at idle a couple of weeks ago in the cold, which I solved by cleaning out the ICV. It has run fine since then, better than before actually. The tax expires on the 31st of may so there's still a month and a half of it left, likewise, I believe the MOT expires somewhere in mid-june: 2 months away.

After recieving advice on the value of the car in the what's it worth? section, I've decided to set the asking price at and accept offers on £1150, which I feel is fair given the relative scarcity of Ph.1s in good condition.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested, or have further questions, either ITT, via pm or by ringing me.

Thanks!

This is now on autotrader:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201304236409464/sort/default/usedcars/model/306/make/peugeot/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/keywords/gti/radius/1500/page/1/postcode/ox37nw?logcode=p

I need this sold as my Ph.2 is being repaired and MOT'd this week, and I am probably leaving the country to work for Ford at the end of May.

Can anyone see why this hasn't been generating interest so far? The price is set within the range that people thought it'd be in in the "what's it worth?" section and I'd take offers on it.

Remember it's easy for people to say they'd pay £1300 in the WIW section, but would they put money where their mouth is?

If you were offered £1000 in cash at a viewing I'd almost 100% say you'd take it as you've touched on offers a couple of times - so perhaps lower it slightly to sound cheaper and see what interest you get then.

My honest view is advertise at £995 on AT and in your head reduce the amount you'd knock off on a viewing. If you have to take £980 as you think a viewer will walk and your happy with that - then happy days. If your mention of offers means it's £1100 and not a penny lower then that's a fair comment, but it doesn't sound like you can justify holding out unfortunately if you've got to leave the country. A buyer will read that and throw you a low ball anyway.

I do agree that I need to do something on price if I want the car gone, and that WIW is what people think it is worth, not necessarily what you'll get.

I'm frankly a little surprised nobody on here is interested as the previous owner advertised it on here at the same price, and said he'd had some interest when I arranged to view it on the day the advert went live, and obviously Ph.1s aren't for sale all that often.

Clearly you don't all live for the 306 as much as you think you all do. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts and advice.
