It's basically designed to allow regular trackday drivers to make the step up to racing. Loads of details can be found here: https://www.trackdaytrophy.co.uk________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

Hi guys I'm the owner of the B&k gti6 I did a couple of races last year, the car performed faultlessy. The series is designed for novice racers and is grouped according to power/weight ratio. Unfortunately my power/weight ratio put me right in the middle of the class. So I'm gonna need to spend a few quid getting more bhp. I'm gonna be looking at second hand throttle bodies and ecu set up but need to save some money first |

What are the checks they do for that series? Ie, how do they know what power you are running?________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

You have to go to one of the certified dyno places to have power read at the hubs. It's done at the beginning of the season with the engine sealed (I think, although Mark can confirm) until after the season. If you want to do any engine work you have to have it retested and resealed.Weight is the same although obviously there's no way to seal the weight so I think you can be subject to random tests at each race. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

You can step up to Team Trophy which allows up to 200bhp / ton but with more experience drivers. Other options include Canons Tintops or CSCC Tintops that Carl races in.(I might have done my homework on race series...) ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |

demondriverdan it looks like you've done a lot of reading up on it. Its quite an honest championship you have to have a power run at the beginning of the season but no engine sealing, it would be quite easy to cheat but at 1 meeting last year they did test a few suspicious cars. ( I dont know the outcome). Is a really good series. What specs your car? |

Probably pretty similar to yours (trackday prepped, cage buckets etc) but it weighs under 1100kg and is supercharged so will be over 200bhp/ton. ________________________________________ Chris1999 China Gti6 Supercharged [Fun car] >>Project Thread<< 2000 Bianca 306 Diesel [Work runabout] |

Nothing too crazy on mine, Gaz Golds, thicker TBs and ARB, Renaultsport brakes etc. I've bought a cage, fire extinguisher and cutoffs with race battery but waiting to get them fitted. As soon as the cage is in I'll get a new race seat and fit the extinguisher and cutoffs. Full build thread is here: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=150229 Are you going to be at Brands? I'll be there to have a chat to some guys and get a feel for it. I went to Silverstone to do the same thing but trying to get to know more people before I start next year. ________________________________________ Rallye Race Car |
