I've bought about 2/3 off ebay,every one i've bought the batteries just run out after about a week..if that! So im after a key fob that will last longer than a week please LOL
Its for a 98 Phase 2 so the IR one please, I dont care about the casing of any of that i just want one that works and holds the charge on the batteries thanks!

Any keyfob wont just work with any car.

1. replace the battery?????
2. do you not need to code the fob to work on YOUR car. If not, does any 306 fob open any 306 car????
3. even with new batteries the IR has only about a 1 meter range at best.

You need two keys to reset the fob btw

I can't remember the specific fault, but on the P2 fob there is a short that appears in the circuit which will cause the battery to drain itself after about a week. However it is possible to reprogram fobs to work with your car, search the FAQ for the appropriate guide on how to do this.

Just need the blade in the ignition which you can separate from the fob to program it to the car Thumbs up

Had the same problem with the battery discharging, went through loads of 2nd hand until i got a working one.
