Are you using a cambelt tensioner on the aux belt circuit? Blink

Easiest way on the 205 is not running PS, Tensioner is normally off a XU9JAZ engine or XU10 8v's no doubt others too from 1993 on.
Some do use the GTi6 Tensioner but really its too wide

Thanks. I'm not using power steering. Is there a specific belt or do I just measure it

I have just used the correct size belt for just the alternator and crank, no tensioner at all.

Very commonly done with a 6pk700 belt and the tensioner fitted to a hole pre threaded on the aux mount.

I've got it like that on my '6 engined 205 but want to change it as I'm not happy with it. As miles says it's too wide and my belt runs to the very edge.
