Car was working fine yesterday but today it fires up and idles but as soon as you give it and throttle the engine dies?

Only reason I ask is.cos before mine was mapped it was running really rich and when you went on the throttle it would die.

Sounds like a sensor issue, crank? EDIT < Just saw the video > Still sensor related I'd imagine or lambda?

Tell me if I'm wrong, but if its a faulty crank sensor, the engine wouldn't start?

Lol I gathered its a sensor. It's been running sweet for the last 3 years.

I was debating tps or fuel pressure maybe?

Definately sounds like a TPS fault. Had mine do the same thing a while back. Even without a laptop you can check it using a multimeter.

Think it'll be an EFi Euro 1 ecu, which I believe needs a silly expensive cable to connect to.

Pete is right. The cable is a nightmare to get hold of

I have a brand new tps for my car sitting here which I could donate for a while but it's gonna be a pain trying to get the throttle % set the same

Have you tried starting the car on high throttle? When TPS's go faulty its usually only for a short part of the entire range, and mostly at lower ranges as they are used more. Or you could start it and quickly move it past the lower range to higher load points to see if it revs up or not.

Mine takes some throttle when starting when it's been sat for an age. Usually have to maintain some throttle so it doesn't die. Otherwise with more regular use it's fine. It adds character at least.
