Who really cares ultimately, I don't!
I love the 6's and Rallye's because they are good drivers cars!
Half the people on the road who own nice cars can barely drive them for s**t.
If, like me, you can handle your car pretty damn well, then trust me I am not going to notice a difference between a Rallye and a 6! Same engine, same brakes, same suspension.
If you want to make a real improvement to a car, or dare I say a real 'Rallye' then upgrade the brake discs and brake pads, get yourself some half supportive seats (as I don't care what anyone says, all 306 seats are s**t for support, including Phase 1s) and get an aftermarket steering wheel and a short shifter for the transmission, and perhaps upgrade the suspension (nothing expensive). Then you will see how important upgrading the 'essentials' like this can improve a cars dynamics.... compared to just removing the air con, electric windows and putting some lighter (but same design) seats in.
Renault have the right idea..... Clio Trophy, R26R.
Not to take anything away from the Rallye though. It was produced in limited numbers and was a special edition model, and just as with anything like that, people will buy into that and they like the fact they own and drive around in something slightly less common. But it isn't for me. Sure I like a Rallye, but I was just as happy driving around in my 6.
But talk about Renault Sport cars, and I would rather have the Clio Trophy over a regular 182, or an R26R over a regular Megane Sport, they have the right idea!
