How do you know it's wanting to fire?Things to check are as follows: 1. Multi-function relay rear of battery box plugged in. 2. Battery terminals tight. 3. Fuel cut-off switch plugged in and not activated. 4. Crank sensor plugged back in. Hope this helps, Stan. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Yes, it bolts to the top of the gearbox and has a brown connector on it which needs to plug back into the loom. Also have you definitely re-attached both Earth cables back onto the gearbox?________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

However, does it sound like it is trying to fire? If so, the crank sensor won't be the problem. Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Does it actually sound like it's trying to fire and nearly starts but doesn't? Also, have you checked the fuel cut-off switch?________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

With keys out of the ignition, you should be able to install the keys, turn to the second click and need to put the code in BEFORE the light will go green. Once the light has gone green the immobiliser should be off and it should be ready to start. Next check you need to do is to see if the crank sensor has been plugged back in and then whether or not you have a spark at the spark plugs. To do this, remove a coil pack and a plug then place the plug back into the coil pack and hold the coil with the threads of the spark plug against a metal part of the engine (cam cover will be fine) and get another person to crank the engine. You should see the spark plug sparking as the engine is cranking over. If it doesn't then you either have a problem with the crank sensor or the immobiliser is not disarming. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Was it working fine before? What *exactly* happens from the moment you put the key in? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

So you're saying that the keypad is essentially telling you that the immobiliser is disarmed before you even put the code in then? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

The immo isnt disarming. Try an unlicked ecu if you can get hold of 1. If that works you will need to change the lot________________________________________ cherry p1.....SOLD (regreting this)blaze p2.....why did i buy this SOLD Black p3 |

right be on it for a couple hours and im stumpedOriginal ecu - put the key in turn to position 2, bitron on the rear of battery tray keeps clicking, fuel pump is cutting in and out and speedo keeps bouncing also the immobiliser pad is showing green BEFORE typing so essentially saying its disarmed. Unlocked ecu - put the key to position 2, bitron not clicking, fuel pump priming, immobiliser pad showing green BEFORE typing tryed disconnecting the battery for half hour still pad shows green, crankshaft is plugged in, inertia is in and not pressed down all the earths are fine. im assuming its an immobiliser problem just dont know how to get around it |

I think you need to go back over all the work you've done.If the vehicle was running perfectly fine, then you take it apart to change a clutch and now it doesn't it has to be really something you've done/not connected back up. Have another gander over everything. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

As above, if you have tried an "unlocked" ECU and it still doesn't fire then it can't be an immobiliser fault, assuming that is the ECU has been unlocked professionally and correctly. You need to check to see whether or not you have a spark. This will remove all doubt about the immobiliser if it turns out that you have. I suspect as you say earlier that it is 'trying to start' that you do have a spark, but for some reason the engine just won't catch. This is your next port of call really, as without determining this, you're not really going to get anywhere fast. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Definitly plenty of fuel in there?Check the 2 main multi plugs on the inner wing you may have knocked them when doing the gearbox. On your key pad it could be worth actually disconnecting it then plug it back in, it just lifts out basically and unplugs underneath. Pretty sure if you didn't do this already you will have locked the unlocked ecu unless it's proffesionally unlocked, i.e immobiliser removed not just removed from a car in an unlocked state. ________________________________________ Ryan |

My ph1 loses it's code to the immobiliser if the battery is out for more than a couple of minutes, so that the next time I put the key in and turn to position 2 the green light comes on straight away. When it does I just put my old code in anyway, it beeps 4 times and the car starts as normal. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

This could be a winner, as could Ryan's suggestion of checking the inner wing multiplugs. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
