So have just got home after getting the new system put on the car and the catalytic converter put back on and pull into my drive way to find a bloke fitting a new windscreen to my parents car. I live the car running while i take the old exhaust out and put in my garage and he asks me to turn it off as it's Loud. LOL

I am in the process of getting a 2,5inch system for when i get the car back from Carl.
First of all what are the amounts of CO2 a standard 6 needs to meet in order to pass an MOT?
I am getting a 2,5 inch SImons / Jetex Chromium Steel catback exhaust. In adition to this i decided to go for a ceramic cat from this place:

http://www.turbozentrum.de/abgassystem/katalysatoren/keramik-katalysatoren/rennsportkat-keramik-oval-63-5mm/a-2497/

Before anyone says that due to the price of it the charged lump will burn it out. After reading a lot of threads of people using these on turboed and supercharged VAG engines with 300+ bhp while meeting emission regulations. I will get a mate to TIG weld me a ss downpipe in 2,5inch with this cat in place.
I have been looking in this matter for quite a time now and initially i was thinking of going for this which is a genuine Peugeot Sport item with a FIA aproved cat:

http://www.pam-sport.com/fin_d__annee_2011_065.htm

Item number 6. Now he wants 330€ for this delivered to my home. Thing is this is a 200 cell metalic cat which seems t only become efficient when reaching a certain temperature, ceramic cats however work from cold and are said to cope better with forced induction engines.
A decat is no option for me, as i dont want the car to be annoyingly loud and i cant be arsed to swapp the cat back on every year.

Just my opinion and i will post on here once i get my sytem on the 6 and how it compares to the standard system.

Cheers

PS the french site above has lots of technical documents for the 306 Maxi setups if anybody is interesten in this. Unfortunately it is only in french.

Cheers

I would not recommend a metallic cat. My SC-6 broke 2 of them.

I'll be doing the same,
I'm going to try the RX8 cat though I think.
Or a MK2 RS focus one...

I'm not risking a decat in 2013 NO SIR. The heyday of decats has passed.
Not worth it imo.

If a Focus RS can have 360 hp with a cat then theres no reason why we need avoid fitting one.
Its about fitting the RIGHT one....

What about an Evo 6 Cat? looks like a nice easy shape to get welded into any system...
