Anyone have experience of using these easy bleed kits? How effective are they, or is it worth just doing the standard procedure and then taking it to a garage to have it vacuum bled to ensure all the air is out?

I got one from halfords and now swear by it, me and a few mates had doubts about it but for £4.99 it does the job very well

4.99! I've seen it for not far off 20, but not that cheap!. Did you just bleed or flush the system with them, I'm thinking mine will be having a flush, any good for that aswell? Even if I can get it almost fully bled then get it finished in a garage when I have the MOT

I have one and use it on my car to do a full flush and bleed. Works very well. Yes

I'm ordering one as we speak, means I can just cut my old hoses on my calipers now and then not have to worry about bleeding them in a few weeks! Finish stripping the rear beam off the car today, get the calipers prepared for paint,

If you do open the brake system though make sure you cap the lines off somehow as it's a gravity fed system which means all the remaining fluid will leak out and then the system will run dry.

With an ABS system you don't want this happening as it will be near on impossible to re-bleed it correcly without the specialist tooling. Wink

Since I'm changing the hoses for braided ones, I'm just going to cut them and then bend them back and clamp them on themselves. I've read a few people on here have run them dry and had a nightmare trying to get them bled again. Plus if I do this then I can get a ring spanner on the nuts which may save the ballache of rounding off the heads

I have used the Gunson's Eezi automatic Brake and Clutch bleed kit over the last 15 years on various cars that I have owned, and can honestly say providing you get a good seal on the master cylinder cap and reduce the air pressure in the tyre to 20 psi they work brilliantly, thought I would post my views across Thumbs up

Did a little over pressure once! Got a bit messy! Realised id also used a lid that was more or less the same size as the one i should of used so swapped over and put on tight and a little less pressure and sorted.

I must admit it stops the need for a second man, plus providing there is no air leaks at the reservoir then it really does bleed the brake system with ease. It's also nice to know that air isn't being sucked back in through bleed nipple threads when the pedal is being pumped and it's on the release stroke...Yes

Well worth the money IMO, I used my kit only a few weeks back when I bled the brakes on the 6.

If you do empty the entire system, generally you can bleed the abs pump but if you are having issues, you can use peugeot planet to do it.
Also, any pug planet owners on here....you can use it instead of a easy bleed. it uses the abs pump to pressurise the lines and you just go round opening them up until you get a nice flow of fluid.
Obviously be careful not to run the reservoir dry otherwise you will suck in air and you have to start all over again!
