I'm thinking it may be a thermostat hole, I've seen some radiators with a stat in the rad but don't know why? Maybe an older design or something? Or it could be shafted, if so I hope he insured the thing!

early d-turbos had the low water level sensor in there, not seen it on a 6 but thats what it will be. its on the front face of the rad in the bottom 3rd of the expansion bottle on the side of the rad, on the opposite side to what the oil cooler pipe goes on.

theres normally a white blanking plug in the box for cars that dont have this option

I realised you sent me them in an Email, spent ages looking for those photos last night! I didn't receive that part in the post with the radiator, does anyone know what part number that is, I'll just get one and put it in and not connect it. BTW is that what connects to the brown plug at the front of the engine that isn't connected on the 6? A low water sensor would be handy, just incase something does go tits up

I did find something in the packaging, it was the small stub that the overflow pipe connects to (next to the filler cap), I can fix that it's not an issue. I just hadn't noticed until now that it wasn't there.

My brand new Nissens from CG Cars had this broken off too - not sure whether it was done before or after I bought it as I had it for months before I opened it up and discovered it.

What is the best way to fix it? I tried epoxy and it broke off again. What about plastic welding?

Apologies for thread hijack BTW.

I would like to see what I can do, I was just going to super glue the thing back on, high temperature glue should do the job I should imagine?
