Does any one know if GSF premium front discs, Part No : 601PC0210, are still Brembo?

Are there 2 types of gti6 brake disc available ftom GSF?

If so the cheaper are usually Vtech items and the dearer ones are the Brembos. Also you could just ring up your local branch to confirm Thumbs up

I did my front discs and pads back in June last year and tried to get standard Brembo discs from GSF. The guy behind the counter told me that they were discontinued now but he'd look to see if he had any left on the shelf.

He came back with a tatty sellotaped together box and the discs didn't look to be very good quality at all despite having Brembo etched on the outer edge. There was a fair amount of porosity on the braking surfaces and excessive run out of the cast vent cores to the machined faces. On top of this they turned out to be 4mm too wide and I ended up getting a full refund.

I finally bought a set from AP Motor Store for £65.70 incl. VAT and they were, and still are, spot on! I'm really happy with them.

I'd be wary when using GSF. It depends what components you are getting though.

I think now they are selling the Bendix discs as OE replacements, but I don't have any experience of them.

To be honest, I've used a fair few sets of Brembo's with Mintex 1144.

I decided to try EuroCarParts and bought the Pagids. Absolutely nothing in it between the discs, well, time will tell on the longevity, but braking performance is the same (imho)

just ring them, could also be bendix, they dont always state the brand on the site as they use whichever supplier is cheapest or has stock at the time.

I was looking for discs not long ago and gave GSF a call after coming across this 'premium' s**T on the website

I ended up phoning them to ask if they were Brembo, the guy said he couldn't tell me exaclty but it would be either Brembo or Bendix or some other brand[I can't remember the name of them but they apparently are oem on some BMW's or Audi's i think].

The uncertainty made me buy Pagid from Carparts4less[ which is basically ECP but cheaper]. Haven't fitted them yet but I've never heard of any probs with Pagid and my mate swears by them.

Well my Pagid discs are cracked to f**k! Didn't last as long as the brembo either Sad

I'll buy them again as I get them cheap, but I do think the brembo discs lasted longer

I warped the pagids in no time. Brembo ones never gave me a problem.

Fair play, im going to get the brembo discs and some ds2500's I think. Had a couple of scary moments with the pagids so they are the only thing to slow me down its got to be worth the extra spons.

Pagid are s**t Yes

Bought first set new discs and pads all round and the fronts warped within days.

On the second set all round now and car just failed mot and one advisory was rear disc warped and both pads low. After 25k of mostly motorway driving.

Not good enough imo.

Bendix are supposed to be decent. My brother had them on his mk3 golf gti and hasn't faulted them

Avoid pagid if you can

Good man!! Do they do ds2500's and are the discs brembos? If so, I'll definitely take you up on that and probably get your garage to sling them on. Smile

I highly doubt you will have warped a rear disc, they do fook all work on the rear of a fwd car and barely get warm.

you need an aftermarket supplier for stuff like DS2500's, questmead I have heard are good for brake stuff.

I'm either going to crack another pair of Pagids or try Bendix

They always send us brembos for premium discs. Sometimes pads but mostly bendix pads. We have a gsf rep assigned to us so can ask her to make sure they are brembo discs. Let me know when you want them and ill check prices and availability.
There's someone on 306OC that has contacts for getting cheap ds2500's. can also be found on eBay cheap sometimes.
