As title really, need a 12v feed to take 16amps continuous, where would be best to take this from in the engine bay?

Obviously could take it direct from battery and stick an inline fuse in there like every amp install ever, but would rather take feed from engine bay fuse box so firstly is it possible to wire up the spare unused holders? And if not are any of the wired up fuses in the engine bay box unused in a phase 2 with no AC?

Is there any reason you don't want to take a feed straight from the battery?

Looks neat if you can make it look OEM-ish by going through the fuse box.

don't the fuse holders clip into the main fuse block? I'd be picking up a spare fuseblock from a scrappy and putting mroe fuse holders into the fuse block on your car.

Then solder the terminals to your new wire. Big grin

Yeah as Martin said want it to blend in. And yeah Martin you are spot on, I will get a pic at some point for future reference on here, there are two pin connectors that clip in to the block that fits the back of the fuse box, I'm trying to draw 16ohms so I'm going to use one of the big spares that uses the 12v feed to the fuse box.

It's hardly the same thing that the OP is asking for though Jon. I was looking for an ignition live inside the car (which I subsequently found) whereas the OP is looking for one in the engine bay fusebox.

I see what you mean, the part I was finding random was that it would seem Dan believes that I have the answer to every electrical dilemma just because I managed to find a live feed that I was looking for. The simple truth is I don't. Laugh
