No I got a set of A048's on a set of wheels I bought, not that I've fitted them to the car or driven it yet ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! Project Thread Looking for: VTS P1 Rack PR1.2 16" |

Ah the 048's are really recommended but can't get any discount at work on them so can't really spend £600+ at the min otherwise they would be my first choice. But seem to find alot of positives about the ad08's with some actually preferring them to the more expensive r888 especially in the wet etc |

Yeah, that's half the reason that I bought the wheels. The wheels didn't end up fitting so traded them with a set of Turini's but kept the tyres. They only got about 3mm of tread but I can keep them once they are past legal to use on the track, plenty of track grip left in them. I think I got a price of £120 a corner for 205/45/16's from BlackCircles IIRC________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! I can get ad08's in 15's for around £60 a tyre and r888 for around £90 a tyre at work. I sold my 16's purely cause of tyre cost as like you say in 16's the ad08 was £116 last time I looked on camskill against £76 for same tyre in 15 from camskill |

Being a bit new to all this!I am looking at getting some more track focused tyres for my 6. It is fitted with pretty basic Proxes at the mo, but I might try these Yokies, they seem cheaper than most track day tyres which are over 100 quid a pop for most semi slicks. But these AD08;s are far more expensive if you pick a 55? Would it hurt terribly to fit a 50, surely it just drops the rolling radius a touch and maybe your top speed, and on most tracks you aint getting anywhere bear 130 ish! |

For track use a 50 profile would be fine. The disadvantages with a smaller rolling radius on the road don't really apply on track (lower gearing, speedo optimistic, more fuel consumption etc). ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

That's what I thoughtSo, why are they so much cheaper, you are talking 20 quid a tyre if you go for 50's! Maybe they can produce more? |

A lot more are produced! People want a lower sidewall on a track based tyre to give less roll in the sidewalls, the only reason they use 55 is to give a more comfortable ride whilst on the road________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected!
