For those that are running oil coolers (think most are using Mocal on here?) who is using thermostatic sandwich plates, it seems that most of the kits that come ready for the 306 don't have the TSP just a standard connection unit that runs 24/7. Does anyone have any issues with this as cold oil is just as bad as oil that is too hot, especially if you are running it on the road aswell as track________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! Even the thermostatic plates let some oil threw the cooler all the time I found on my 309gti that I fitted a xu10 into that for road use even with the thermostatic plate it cooled the oil too much. Imo you only need a cooler if your doing track work/fitted a charger etc. ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

If you use some oil that works better when hot there isnt really any need for an oil cooler, even on track, mine hasnt and its fine.________________________________________ Pug fee`ver,Pick a Bogey, buy a Pug. I thought that a standard wouldn't need the extra cooling but then there are people running standard 6's on here saying that the oil is going well up in the temp on the track. I'll do a day with it and then see how it does, if it get's well up in the temp then I'll have to bang one on, if not then that's £200 quid I can spunk on something else that my Pug doesn't need ________________________________________ 205 GTi Red - G939 RTU - Died!306 GTi 6 Diablo - Being resurrected! Mine has a thermostatic plate and seems to run fine. It sits at 80c when on the road, only goes up to 90c when on track. I am running a 19 row cooler though which is fairly large for the 306. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
