Guys im looking to find which pin it is on the ph3 gti ecu that provides the injection flow rate signal. Seeing as this isnt used as standard, i doubt anyone would just know but if anyone has any pin out diagrams, that would be good. Also if anyone knows of any other peugeots that use the same ecu, then that would be helpful to know |

Trip computer from a 406. Ive got all the wiring sorted except for this pin. Ive found it for several other ecu's but not this one mainly because im not sure which one the late gtis use! (magnatelli marelli??) |

AFAIK all of them use the Marelli IAW.1AP.10 ECU.BUT loads of PSA cars use the IAW.1AP range (from 1.4 Saxos to 2.0 GTI6s), and I've seen a few of these inside and they are all the same, except a few minor differences, and naturally they have different dumps. Worked it out now after a few boring hours of trawling the net. Will put a guide up soon on how to fit a 406 trip computer |

D8. D9 is mainly run off the BSI in the 406 however i am also looking at how easy it would be to fit a 406 BSI as that would open up alot more options but problem there is to pair it with the ecu, i would need a brand new BSI. They do pop up on ebay from time to time for about £50 but depends if i have the cash at the time! |

All BSIs have an internal memory, in a form of a SOIC8 EEPROM, or an MCU. The BSI can be Siemens or Valeo, and the PSA range has the following EEPROMs and MCUs: 93C66, 95040, 95128, 95160 and MC68HC912DG128 MCU. These store all the data necessary data on the BSI, including the PIN code, ECU sync etc... If you know the exact type of BSI found in the V6 406 I can tell you which one it has. First of all you need to locate the EEPROM which you have to desolder, and read it's content out with a programmer. I would advise to get a UPA programmer - works with most stuff. http://www.chinasinoy.com/wholesale/new-upa-usb-programmer-v12-with-full-adaptors-green-color-2047.html For desoldering I use ChipQuick. It's even good for 100pin MCUs, a simple SOIC8 is not a problem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kyaz4Zrd78 This is available at Farnell, and in other varios webshops. Once you have the dump from the EEPOM on your computer just make a new thread on Digital Kaos, asking the guys to virginise your BSI. They'll basically modify the dump to revert it back to the state it left the factory. You may do this ony your own, but it's loads easier to let the pros do it! - you can even modify the security code, so for example you can write the 306's PIN into the BSI, to achieve an even sleeker install. Once you have th modified dump, write it back to the EEPROM, solder it back and assemble the BSI. Actually it's quite easy to do it. Once you have an exact BSI type and number I can quide you through all steps.For example here's a pic I found on my computer of a 307 BSI: The one you have to desolder is one of those SOIC8s found in the red circle - can't recall which tho. But the type (95160) is written on it. On a side note, where did you find the signal for the fuel level? I am going to butcher a headlight stalk for the horn button, flip it and put it into the wiper stalk to scroll through. I was going to use a 406 wiper stalk but they are a different style. Wiring is the same so could be good if i could get them to fit as they look a bit nicer!The fuel tank level comes from the dials. IIRC without looking at my notes, you need 4 wires from the dials, 4 from the original clock plug and the 1 from the ecu then it will all work. Only downside is you loose the clock but thats one reason why i would like to fit a D9 display but ive got to work out how they work first! |

Well ive now got it all worked out and im hoping my display will arrive tomorrow so if so, will bang up a guide tomorrow. Ive started looking into the D9 one (much nicer and you can retain the clock) and it might not actually be as difficult as first thought. |
