Tried some grease but to no avail. Central locking still works fine though so not sure what's up with it, any suggestions?

Went to put something in the boot yesterday. Opened fine but when i went to shut it, it wouldn't shut. Just bounces open so its currently being held down with some duct tape . Tried some grease but to no avail. Central locking still works fine though so not sure what's up with it, any suggestions? ________________________________________ '01 Astor Grey GTi6'99 Cherry Rallye |

Slam it harder you puff.Presumably you've looked at the hinges to see if they've moved? The catch on the boot shut, see if that's moved as well as the one in the tailgate. Seal in the correct place? Not done a rikky and left a tool in the top? ________________________________________ |

Get in the boot and have an assistant slowly drop the tailgate until it fouls. The tailgate that is, not your dirty assistant.________________________________________ |

+1 thats the forst and most likely thing to check. If thats fine then take tue comer off the tailgate and check that the mech isnt stuck or has come apart somewhere it is very easy to see once you have taken the plastic cover off.________________________________________ Team SUPERCHARGEDI LIVE FOR THE 306 Old Project thread Clicky: click here remove the space between [url = |

I'll give that a go although I don't think its fouling anywhere, its like its the catch is stuck open as if the button is being pressed ________________________________________ '01 Astor Grey GTi6'99 Cherry Rallye |

Try pressing the button to open the boot (with it open) the catch may have closed. It may need a new catch. A relatively easy fix.________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |
