You can replace the handbrake mechanism.doesn't take long and is only 4 bolts.

So what exactly have you snapped, the bolt that secures handbrake lever mechanism to the car, or the actual adjuster that tightens the cable?Dunno

If it's the cable adjuster, 10 min job to swap over for one from scrappy, 3 bolts holding complete mechanism to shell once cable is off.

If it's one of the bolts that secures the mechanism to the shell you will need to remove the old one, drill or cut out and replace.
Not sure if you can get to the underside to just use a bolt, if not you will need to weld a bolt in.Unsure

Yes

Although I would have expected the cables to snap rather than the adjuster nut/bolt if the mechanism in the calipers were seized. Yes

Handbrake cable/s could of been snapped?Dunno

And you have tightened the adjuster right down the thread and snapped itRoll eyes

Just to confirm it is the adjuster you broke, were you tightening it from the rear of centre console, parallel to floor of car?
