As above, need to know what ones are ok to be removed (if any).

Some of the bolts snapped upon removing the shields to underseal the Chassis.
Atm the only ones that are left under the car are:

- One linking from the engine bay down via the CAT
- One on the Fuel tank

The only one that i am definitely putting back on is the backbox shield.

I don't know if there is anything else in the centre tunnel or not. It might be OK to leave them off, I don't know, but I would definitely keep them. In fact I've installed a brand new rear box heatshield and am planning to also replace the long one under the middle of the car as well. After all Pug put them on there for a reason - on a long journey the centre tunnel would get warm for sure.

You say you want to leave the centre shield off and keep the rear one - but the rear box would not get as hot as the pipe closer to the engine surely?

It would be easy to get new studs welded on to replace the long heatshield.

definitely put the one on the fuel tank. Mine was hanging off when i bought my car so removed it whilst i waited for the new fixings to arrive. The bottom of the tank got worryingly hot!

What i'll do then is put these shields back on, make new holes and retap new bolts in.

They do get very warm, best thing to do mate is drill up through to clear the hold and use nut serts

My tunnel gets warm on a long journey and I've still got the shields mate

nut serts are essentially rivets aren't they? i don't have a tool that could make use of this unfortunately.

I zinc primed and high-temp silver painted my new back box shield - looks good and won't rust this time!

Nut serts put a shallow caged nut so that you can take the bolt in and out as much as you want, much the same as welding a nut but a lot less agro, any help needed drop me a pm as I'm not to far from you

I've sorted it now, drilled fresh holes and re-tapped new bolts in! Smile Thanks anyway though buddy
