A parking scrape is quite different from a shunt when a car is hit/hits something at speed that often causes damage some distance from the obvious - the force distorts things so it is never the same or pops seams that might start rust etc. A properly repaired parking scrape is not a problem.

Went and had a look and from cold start up nothing sounded untoward, took off the oil cap and no mayo but the spray bars didnt seem to be spraying a lot, but it wasnt dry so must be working to a degree, swiped my finger under the inside of the cam cover and no mayo under there either...

Its fitted with a catch tank and that was grouted (looked all gunked up and minging) No untoward noises on the short run but it has blown the bottom rad hose off which with limited tools and it being so low I couldnt get back on without risking injuring myself.
Once the hose is on and full with water and system bled I will do a compression test to make sure all is ok in that regard....

Recommended clearing out the catch tank, an oil change, check recently changed plugs are tight, new filters (oil / fuel)

Not sure why the oil breather has a filter down by the PAS cooling loop but hey

Just thought id let everyone know the buyer of this car was in contact with me last week, the HG failed epicly on him two weeks after he bought it off me. He had the car looked at and the cause of this HG failure was all the head bolts were done up to all different torques. Also the garage said there was no way it was a reconditioned head.

Looks like that didn't happen, at least you got shot of it and lumped the problem onto an unsuspecting buyer +1 for you. Thumbs up

Jesus, danposs was the guy who had it before me with all this alleged work he had done to the car, am glad I walked away from it when I did, being made redundant does have its advantages lol. I must have been very lucky because nothing ever went wrong with it for the 5 months that I owned it.

Rob did you ever send off the logbook for the car? Or is the new owner doing it??
