In order to seperate the rather long air con pipe by the engine mounting, a spring lock tool is apparently used.

Is there 'another' way this can be undone to re use or does it specifically require one of these specialist tools?

    Anything that you can get inside the joint to push the release spring will work.

    I recall Pete telling me he'd once done it with a small piece of pipe cut down the middle and pushed into the joint.
