I was going to run C5 steels, they are the best looking ones for a rallye but must be white! ________________________________________ Cherry rallye - DOB Thursday 29/04/1999Team Rallye - the leaner, meaner, better looking sister of the GTI6 roland rat wrote: You sir either live for the 6 or have a mental retardation to still be repairing this! White on the red Rallye look good, think white on white might be too much, may go for grey steels |

I'm going to get my C5 "steelies" (with Partner centre caps) onto my Rallye soon, once I've sorted some tyres, and after I renew my insurance with someone more mod-friendly. They will be a grey colour, using etch primer + lacquer and done DIY. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

Ive got a set of standard GTI-6 steel wheels (made up of 4 x spare wheels obviously), which I kept after selling the 306 and now run R888's on them on the 180. Yes they are heavier than the C5 "steelies" but on a par with a cyclone for weight and very strong. As for refurbing them, bugger that!! Leave em rusty! ________________________________________ 1999 Astor Grey GTi-6 OEM+ (now gone...)2004 Aegean Blue 206 GTi 180 (also gone...) 2006 Skoda Fabia vRS in Sprint Yellow honestly3k wrote: Do you wrestle for a living matt? The heat can be an issue I found, they seem to get quite hot quite quick in comparison to alloys, on track I'd expect you'd see issues with heat.. They seen to be less brittle than Alloys at least, flatspotted one of my steels on a chronic pothole and ended up smacking it back with a sledge, balances with less weights than it did before, I guarantee I'd have cracked an Alloy.. |
