Aparently a 12,500 miles service on a 599 is only 1100 odd.Bargain in comparison. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Bloke at work has one. His is putting out about 650bhp, he himself is an ex formal Ford champion and is an ards inductor at Rockingham, so when he tookhe me out for a spin it was an experience and left me in no doubt that some drivers are better than others. It is mental fast, it is a marvel at how it put the power down and handled, but there was no drama at all, we hit 125mph almost instantly and it felt like my 6 does when I'm doing 60. Very nice and capable car but I got out of the car and was like oh that's pretty cool but wasn't overly fussed. I guess what I'm saying is unless you drive it on a track it really is a waste on the road!Of course the 6 would of have the edge in the twistes! ________________________________________ If you aint first, your last! |

A good friend of mine modify the baskets in the gearbox on these so they can handle 1000bhp without going pop, supply to all the tuners of these things, took one round the ring last and this year and its just effortless as the car has so much inputWould still rather have a 911.. Never driven one but by all accounts they are massively fast but they do everything for you. No doubt you end up feeling like a driving god but can't say its that appealing to me. Give me a Noble M12 gto 3R anyday. No fancy electronics, miles more satisfying knowing your doing it yourself. Half the reason I guess why I like the 306 so much. Couldn't explain my dissapointment in the clio trophy when I went to buy one and nearly stacked it because the ecu cut power to the wheels! Salesman couldn't get it into his head that I didn't want one because it had traction control! ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

It's the clutch baskets, the only bit that can't be inter changed is the ecu although you can reprogram that, it comes as part of the box. "no drama at all"Because it's a Nissan. It's all very impressive stuff technologically, though none of it is new or revolutionary, it's just filtered down from motorsport to road cars as a performance enhancer rather than as a safety feature. Unless you're going for lap records or you're competing, drama is all a car needs to have. There are plenty of cars faster than a 205 GTi, but it's the drama that keep people coming back to them, similarly I'm sure the GTR could lap "such and such" circuit faster than a lot of single seaters, but I guarantee the SS driver would have the bigger smile. ________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |
