When i first got the Rallye i fiddled about and replaced the downpipe - Cat clamp. Ever since then it has rattled against the Heat shield up by the Cat. Crazy
Whatever i do, i cannot seem to position the exhaust so that it sits away from the heat shield!!!

I've also moved the centre clamp too. Damn things annoying now!!
Any tips or something i can do to shift the cat away from the heat shield?? Sad

Check that one or more of the heatshield retaining bolts haven't sheared off.

They have a tendency to do that and it means that a portion of the heat shield will end up sitting closer to the cat that it would normally.

The heat shield is fully bolted on, its the cat sitting in too close... i'm just getting fed up of adjusting it now for it not to work. can it twist on the Manifold - Cat join?

Buy a short length of exhaust heat wrap and wrap part rubbing against heat shield. Cheap off ebay for a few foot plus metal ties.

yes, not a lot but it can help, slacken the joint to the centre box and give the downpipe a good wiggle.

also make sure all the mounts are 100%.

That's all very well but it shouldn't be touching in the first place therefore there is a problem which needs resolving rather than masking up. Yes

I managed to sort it in the end, I jacked up where it bends in the mid section and loosened the bolts to the Cat, shoved a Screwdriver handle in between where it was rattling. Then gave the whole system a good shake to settle it into place.
Tightened it all up and then took everything away. Rattles no more! Razz
