I don't have this problem with mine, although it obviously has been re-mapped with aftermarket management.

plus you wouldn't notice it due to the spiders and cobwebs all over the car preventing you getting into it anyway

your car is the new natural habitat for the lesser known Mincer Moonstone Spider

I dont have this problem, are you saying for example if you're travelling at 30mph in 4th or 5th gear and it just runs unhappily?

Never had that issue. Just the standard grumpyness of the engine/crank when you try to plod along at 30mph in 6th gear

LOL

No spiders or cobwebs on my car, I'm currently carrying out some works on it at the moment in readyness for it going back on the road. Cool

There are others that can do it, or so I've been told. I personally spoke to Midland performance centre who claimed they could do it, apparently the chap there used a gti6 as his uni project so has the equpiment to do it.

My understanding is you need an emulator to be able to talk to the Ecu hence there are not many people that have developed one to do it.

Ok ta,good to know as they are nearer meThumbs up

yes he will, tis the same process.

a further adjustment of an already socketed ecu would be less I believe.

Yes, this is correct. If your ECU is standard then you will have to have it socketed to take an EEPROM. If this process was already done, then it would be a lot cheaper to tweak that map. Yes

Oh right,so the standard ECU needs opening up and this socket soldering in to be able to re-map it?Dunno

I suppose thats why chip wizards charge £400,due to the time/labour involved Smile
