From what the guy on eBay has stated, the replacement one is one that has been removed by switching ignition on. Is there anything I should be aware of when fitting this type________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

In that case you're best off leaving your ignition at the 2nd click when you fit it, it will still be 'unlocked' then and you will be able to use it.When you next switch off the ignition the ECU will now become locked to your car and will only ever work on your car again unless you unlock it again in the same fashion. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Here's where I'm at now, I fitted the rallye ecu and started the engine, I also replaced the three cubed sensor on the fan unit, unfortunately I think I may have locked ecu when replacing the sensor as It would have been paired to the old ones. As the engine would not start up I have put the old ecu back and she starts fine now. I'm thinking its the relay sensor and I have ordered a second hand one off eBay. Is there anything I should be aware of when fitting this part, does the ignition have to be switched on, also where can this sensor be located, I read somewhere it was under the nearside front wheel arch is this correct________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

When you say 3 cubed sensor - do you mean the 3 relays at the top middle of the fans?'Bitron' unit? Yeah - it's under the arch liner. Look up by the horns and you'll see it. Held on by 2 8mm nuts. ________________________________________ |

Your right, apologies, I didn't tell you to disconnect the transponder unit inside the dash before the fiting the new unit... Out of interest, why did you want to change the ECU in the first place if the other one was working? ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

the mechanic said i had all sorts of problems with my ecu, but i have never noticed anything major. Is there anyone who would be able to unlock the rallye ecu on the cheep? as I might need one in the future? gonna try the bitron unit for now just waiting for it to arrive. basically both my fans are on full blast and then one stops and other remains on full blast on start up and running________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

Im new to fixing problems on cars but gonna try and learn The transponder unit sits in the dashboard, just in front of the centre console. Essentially, it's behind the ashtray. You would need to remove the centre console and then you can get to it easily. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

It was the green one, I found it and looks to have fixed the fan issue, I'm so happy my cars back on the road. I'll see how she goes, thanks for everyone's help. When I unscrewed the old one a load of water leaked out is this normal?________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

Yes, it is normal. It's due to the fact that the temperature sensor is measuring the temp of the coolant and therefore needs to be submerged in coolant. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I literally unscrewed the old one and screwed in the new one, I wouldn't of caused any air locks by doing this? Should I of bleed the system first?________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

green one will not have done anything to the fan issue unless it has the wrong plug on it.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I have run the car last night and when the temp reaches 97 degrees the fans come on and it cools to about 90, so seems to be working. I might change the other two sensors aswell just because they have not been changed________________________________________ stevenage black gti 6, 198bhp |

swiftyboi006 wrote: Would it not make the ecu think its not hot enough to kick the fans in? No, the engine ecu has nothing whatsoever to do with cooling fans or the instrument cluster, hence having green for ecu, blue for dash brpwn for fans. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
