Hi folks.

Back in Scotland now after my 7 months working in Holland.

Playing about with the car & decided to plug in a scanner to see if there are any faults in the brain & the scanner can't communicate with my car, tried another 1 & still no joy.

The car has an unlocked Ecu from Rich_W but no other electrical mods.

Any ideas as what could be the problem?

Cheers

Ross

Quite possibly a Canon CanoScan LiDE 110 - 2400 dpi x 4800 dpi unit?

New snap on scanner & a mac tools 1. Both work on my mates 306 so they aren't faulty.

I'm thinking it could be due to the unlocked Ecu, I'm only guessing tho

Not many scanners work on these cars. That said, I'm sure that ive heard that the Snap-On ones do.

There should be certain pins on the old socket, my guess is one isn't there, check your fuses.

Never found a snap-on one that reads the engine ecu on my 6... They all read the airbag and abs etc fine but never the engine even if you put in the ecu model and engine code they don't work. Some obd scanners read my hdi other ones dont.

An old sikes scanner read my 6 perfectly as did a brand new top of the range Launch wireles tablet scanner. Only other thing is pug planet really.
