Have to say I fell for the "ive bought a pile of s**t xsi" as others have said you seem to have a nack for buying s**t cars lad :/. I have to say though I'm intreagued to drive one of these v6's as I've driven other cars with this lump in and it was stupidly slow And disappointing. Yet as soon as its in a 306 everyone argues the toss that it's as quick as a lbsc6....

Considering I own one I find it hard to believe that top end it would even be close as mine never runs out of puff to the limiter at 7650rpm and ive had off some stupidly quick cars with it. Though the v6 will produce more Torque lower down.

Anyway there's a hundred threads about that crap. Good buy mate should be a larf if nothing else Wink.

I will have to try post a video up of it top end to show hoe well it goes for being a standard engine with standard exhaust and a cat. Needs a good filter, decat and straight through exhaust to free it up a little.
Will have to get up against a low boost 6 to see whats what. Maybe next year on track will get the chance Smile

You should try the D9 in a coupe, they can carry a lot of speed, they aren't that slow, maybe gives the impression of being so as they are impressively smooth.

How does it handle with the weight further over the front axle?

most of the weight is the gearbox, which sits in the same place as standard, barely in front of the contact patch.

if you think about it, all the additional weight from the supercharger kits sit in the same place as the V6 does, though the V6's inlet manifold sits over the rear of the engine behind the axle centreline.

For handling, s**t! I have a f**ked front shocker and tge front end is high and bounces around loads and the rear has beenlowered a good bit by the previous owner. Got my old coilovers to go on what should sort the bouncing around out and bring the front end down a little.

As for the engine and extra weight, am sure a V6 engine and box is only 30kg heavyer than a GTi6 engine and box. Then when you add the extra weight of a SC kit then there is not a lot in it.
The V6 engine is tight in the engine bay but as welshpug says most of the extra weight is in the box. Also the position of the V6 engine is quite central anyway and sits lower down than the 6 engine. My subframe has been lowered around an extra inch to allow the V6 to fit in nicely. I will try get a few pics ovver the weekend.

Also value for money plays a big part. An SC6 will set you back a minimum of £3500+ where as you can pick up a V6 306 quite cheap. Not saying what i paid but if i put the extra money i saved on this over a SC6 into my V6 then a low boost wouldnt have a look in at all. Yes it may look s**t from the outside but looks dont make you go any faster do they Wink

I like the fact it looks like a shed mate keep it that way! Of it was a mint car I'd want it looking the nuts but if I were you I'd be going the sleeper route... Badge it up as a LX diesel s**t steelys and hubcaps basic bumpers etc.drop a few jaws at the lights Wink.
Sometimes wish I'd done that with my sc6.

Its just that fact of when people get up your arse in their jags and bmw's ect on the motorway and you move over to let them past but put your foot down on the inside lane when they are along side you and blow them away, thats the best thing to do knowing your car costs a few hundred quid compared to their £20-30k cars. Then seeing their face after you slowed down letting them past Angry f**k you bellends! Laugh my ass off

If the inside lane was clear of traffic for you to out accelerate them, why were you not in it anyway!! No wonder they get up your arse in the first place!!

Absolutely and utterly, this.

Highways Agency should bring back the "Keep left unless overtaking" text on all motorway signs that would otherwise lie dormant.

A default text, if you will.

Well maybe i was overtaking someone at the time, did you think of that? Take it as a no!

For those of you who say you all stick to the law then good for you but i bet none of you are telling the truth. How often do you sit at 70mph on a motorway and think every car that comes past you that they are breaking the law!
