Well given than an e36 325 is no quicker than your rallyee....
I have dispatched a 328i multiple times.
Once i even did so up hill.
Yes a 325i is the replacement for the 328. But its not really much faster.

so the point is the same
since when was the 325 a replacement for the 328 and why is it faster? Ive driven 323,325,328 and the 328 is the quickest

Just realised I was thinking e46's!
Yes originally the 328 and 323 replaced the 325i.
but it was replaced again with the 325i when the e46 came around.
I think the later 325i engine was also availbale for a very short time in a e36 but may be wrong.

There is 1hp difference before a 325i and 328 i in e36's
And the 328 i is only 197hp.
It weighs a lot more, and has longer gearing than a 6.
I have seen mulitple 328i's off before by the time i've finihed up in fourth.
They are no faster than a 6 in any case.

Rob Humphrey that GTi-6 driver was either out of gear or can't drive.

Yes they will i've seen multiple on the road and they all end up in my rear view mirror after im finished up in 4th.
328i's are lardy and have a 0-60 of 7.9.

Given that mine is quicker than them, the 330 and the GTi6 then i'd say it was a pretty close match tbh. About the same amount of beating involved. Top end of 4th probably just means they didn't want to be going over 100 Wink

Nope he followed me to speeds far above that.
330i's should be a fair bit quicker than a 6 and a 328i though, much newer engine.
