So not much of an update but a few bits done!

A few weeks ago I had a Clifford alarm fitted for insurance purposes.... Only problem was the locks kept losing signal so after a few times locking and unlocking the car it wouldn't play ball any more which resulted in me trying to climb in the boot and try and squeeze through the cage lol

The alarm bloke said it was down to the door lock modules, I went and got another set of locks from the scrap yard and the same happened again!

I at that point questioned the alarm bloke as its strange for two sets of locks to fail!
Anyway I took his advice and ordered two heavy duty 2-way solenoids, this meant I could get rid of all the door wiring and interior wiring bar two cables for lock/unlock.

Today I got round to fitting them and hey presto the locks now work Smile result

Next thing on the list to sort was a new 3" exhaust system and what a night mate that ended up to be.

Took the car up to torque techniques last Friday and left it with him for me to then pick it up Monday after work!

Got up there just as he was locking up, he hadn't started the car to see what it sounded like prior to me getting there.
Started it up and my God it as LOUD as in 100db at 4k rpm which was no good but I thought I would see what it was like on a drive lol
So I headed home.... I felt like a twat, I looked like a twat and my ears were bleeding! 120db at 5k rpm and was unbearable!
Drove back up Tuesday morning to rectify it as no way could I put up with it and would never be allowed on any track!
Another 8 hours went past with them working on it and finally got the bloody thing to shut up!

The out come was two centre section box's and one big ass back box!
Didn't have my mates decibel tester so not sure what it is now but i "think" it's quieter than the old system which was 87db at 4k rpm

I have now heat wrapped the exhaust with 40 meters of wrapped, unfortunately it wasn't long enough to do the entire back box but it'll do lol

Rubbish picture but I'll get a better one once iv fitted the exhaust back on the car

I'm waiting on two cans of high temp silicon spray so that the wrap will be water repellent and then I can fit it, I used stainless clamps instead of the metal zip ties

It's booked in for mapping Thursday so I'll post back then.... Hopefully it all goes ok lol

Thanks, and yup I can't wait either Ross!

Still a fair fit needs doing to it but at least I can drive it

Carbon front door cards
Carbon drivers and co drivers foot wells
Sort the roof out
Skirts need painting again
New steering wheel
Fit p4p Windows
New lower profile rear mounts and raise the rear so I have more travel
Corner weight the car
Make chock for engine mount
Sort pas weap

Just a few things to do lol

Once some of that is done I will book onto an airfield day and give it a good shake down

So I spent all of Sunday washing, paint rectifying, polishing and waxing the dimma... Looked stunning and the best it has ever been
Pictures really don't do it justice

Now I was booked in for mapping tomorrow but due to Ross's misfortune I have now cancelled and after having a chat with Wayne he agrees that I should wait until we at least find out why Ross's box failed! I really do feel his pain!

Ok so mine might have been fine but atm I can't justify spending out on a light bulb never mind a gearbox as iv got my extension to fund and if the gearbox or any other part failed I have no garage to work on the car

I'm just going to enjoy the car over the summer and then think about mapping on e the house is finished and iv got some surplus cash

Well it's on the old map, it's got a different exhaust, different intercooler and the restrictor was opened by 1mm.
The air fuel ratio is good, not sure if the knock sensor is connected to the ecu and not sure if the wide band sorts the ignition out either?

Surely I haven't changed enough for it to be unsafe to drive

Is it not kind of the same as running one of the generic ecu's for high and low boost, those revo, blufin remaps?

It doesn't need mapping - only changes since last map is the exhaust, and 1mm enlargement of the restrictor.

It has a wideband lambda in closed loop to auto trim the AFR, with a -6% / +8% tolerance.

The ignition advance is safe as it is.

Smile

Unfortunately not...
Just been using it every now and then, I haven't had a lot of time for it for a while now Sad
Sold my old house and moved into the new one which doesn't have a garage so it's been stored at my mum n dad's!

Plus side is the new home for the dimma is coming together so should get to do some more to it in the new year but money is very low due to this....

It will defo see a track at some point next year but with 2 straight cut box's going bang now it does worry me about giving it the beans!
I don't have £5 to spend on it never mind the cost of a custom box!

It doesn't bother me using it as a track car, it's already covered in stone chips!
It's an awesome machine and iv had a lot of fun in it but it also gets boring as a lot of my mates have sold up to buy a house, get married etc

I need us to go to war so I can earn some decent money again lol

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's down to the manufacturing! Ross's locked up due to bearing failure and another one stripped all the teeth off 3rd but I need to find out more before pointing the finger or blaming a specific part
