Has any one had any experience of using GTi wheels of distinction? I thought I would get a set refurbed for my 1.9 gti so contacted them. First of didn't seem that bad really, had to send my old wheels to them and organize a courier to pick new wheels up, when they arrived they were chinking together in the boxes which was a good start considering I wrapped my old ones so well, on inspection they were damaged. Also 2 were a completely different silver to the others, 2 had already been fitted to a car had weights and valves still in place, couple were quite badly gouged at the back and lastly the finish on the paint wasn't that great really. So contacted them and they agreed to refurb my old wheels(if you can call it a refurCool. Personally think they just give them a quick blow over. Now I have the replacement set which are a lot better but still quite not what I expected but ive had enough now so there going on. Really wished I just done myself now.

WTF? They sent the "refurbed" wheels back with weights and valves on?

Sound like bodgers mate. Trading standards FTW!

To be fair I wish I spent the time and done them myself, done a better job painting my brothers 106 gti wheels, apparently they do not refurb the backs of the wheels just a flick of paint? Surely when you pay to get wheels refurbed you would expect the backs to be done?

Is this the guy?

If so I have had three sets done by Tony and they were all perfect. ItÂ’s a shame you have had a bad running Sad

When I went and picked three sets up he would not let me load the car up as he wanted to make sure the wheels would not rub or bang together etc. He even gave me extra sheets etc as he felt I did not bring enough with me.

I paid £120 a set and they had been blasted, repaired and powder coated and still look the tits now.

At that price I would suspect something that has some kind of service, not a finish that a primary school could better. Yes mark that is the firm. The set I have now is ok not great but as I said I've had enough and just wana put them on car now. Very disapointed and wouldnt use again or recommend.

Not so distinct now then, you are only as good as your last job, surprising really after all the good reviews on the 205 drivers forum. You cant post this on there else you get put in the naughty room for about five years from the look of some members warns.

It does indeed sound disappointing. Yes

I believe I paid around the £150 mark the last time for the wheels being fully refurbed, and I got an excellent job done. Yes

I can't remember the name of the company that did it though, so not really that helpful. Doh

Funny that because there does seem to be quite a few 205 members on here, but i do get where you are coming from with that, some seem, i say seem to be snobish. It has a different vibe, this site maybe less knowledgable but more fun with no or less b**ching Thumbs up
