I know it's not in the correct section - but it's not mine for sale so I didn't think the classifieds was the place......

I was in Thirsk at the weekend and the owner of the campsite I was staying on drives rallies in a MKII escort in his spare time. He has just bought a package which included a 205 Rallye in Rally condition and doesn't want/need it and mentioned it was for sale. I though someone on here might be interested.

Basically, it's strippped out, fully seam welded, saftey cage fitted, comes with spares ( Doors, driveshafts, gearbox, bumper and other bits) and two spare alloys ( In the boot )

It's been used and could probably benefit from a bit of a clean.

He's asking about £1000

If your interested, call Rob on 07799 641815.

They did a good job of painting it inside so it didn't rub through easily. Although they did miss the fuel cap admitidly. And they masked the rear screen poorly around the seal.

It has a different numberplate on the back.....

It also has the Rallye logo on the steering wheel.

But......whatever it once was, it is now what it is above.

if you look really carefully in the photos, 4th photo is the clearest, you need a really trained eye though on 205's.. it is actually white. not red.

Has blatently been repainted though as pointed out above with the overspray. So I'd say the front plate is probably the correct one.

A GTi I had, had a clip in CTi wheel centre. Did a good job of welding a roof on it.

I agree with you though. It's a shame.

Before this gets into a question of the cars origins/history - Rob has never said it was a Rallye - I just assumed it was due to the grill/steering wheel ( and a mates mum had one in white when I was younger!)

He simply has bough the car as part of a package and he doesn't want it, which is why it's up for sale.

I supose it could have been repainted when all the seam welding was done?

White is the best colour for a 205, so I don't blame them for painting it.

The PTS grill stickers are about a fiver off the net and were fairly popular addition a while back.

It being a rally car it may not be on its original shell, often easier to buy a prepped shell than to fix your own after an off....
Can't recall how many times I reshelled my Sunbeam but kept the same logbook.....
