If there is a bit of bolt sticking out of the hub, you could try tapping it round with a hammer and small chisel...otherwise it's the extractor method. Yes

drill a hole in the middle of the bolt. smack in a torx bit, and undo with a ratchet

Gna heat it up and use the extractor 2mo. Still got 4 bolts that the air gun would not budge 2 on each side. Gna use the breaker bar 2mo as i didt think i would need it with an air gun Doh

the reason it snapped is that is it seized or over tightened and as a result i very much doubt you will get it out, had this a few times. If you do try then get lots of heat on it with gas

They can also get seized because people don't grease the bolts. I always grease wheel bolts, it stops this exact issue from arising. Thumbs up

happened to me too mate. i had to take the caliper and disc off to expose a bit of the bolt. welded a big m12 nut onto it and got it out while it was all still hot.

Retap what metal?

If he's drilled the thread out, you are basically ****ed. Unless it's straight, in which case, you could drill it out and heli-coil it. However, its a wheel bolt - you kinda want them to stay in place Big grin

If you buy second hand make sure you change the bearings as I bought a second hand hub which was meant to have bearings that were fine to reuse, and Rich said they would of been dangerous to drive about on.
Good thing I fitted them and the car never made it back onto the road till after the bearing was changed.
