Whats the difference between the metal and plastic type?

I accidently bought the plastic type as thats what my old car had, will it fit where the metal type did or should I buy a new metal one?

I've never seen the plastic type for our cars...No

I would personally go and buy the metal one as it's the correct one. Thumbs up

Right found out the reason. They don't make the metal type anymore as a few started to rust when left on for a few years. So now all they sell is plastic type push clip ones.

Meh I dunno. Just what Peugeot said...

Do you know why they have two types? Aslong as it fits I'm not too bothered as the Low boost china had two plastic ones throughout my ownership.

    It's awesome mate, so quick. Have had a few expensive months with service, tyres and a big old wiring problem. So hopefully I'll have a few cheap months with it. (touches wood)

    I don't really think it matters.

    If the part numbers are the same and Peugeot are selling you the part, I wouldn't care. I got a Bosch FF from ECP and it's fine. Smile

    my rallye is fitted with a plastic filter and was fitted by peugeot....got the paperwork with service history...

    Spray anything with copious quantities of salt and water for long enough and it will corrode. Nasty stuff that road salt. Gets everywhere.

    That's the main reason I always used to take my '6' off the road in October and not put it back on the road until March after we'd had a good downpour to clean the roads. Yes

    I think Mann manufacter metal filters and Purflux plastic. Both O.E suppliers, both parts do the same thing, just made differently.

    I guess whatever is cheaper on the day of order is what is supplied.

    may well be part of the eu legistlation with regards to recyclable materials, i.e eco oil filter cartridges etc.

    just had a look at mine while doing the handbrake cable,..
    and mines the Plastic version too,.. I changed that a few years ago
    been slacking! LOL
