Did they make a sports edition 406?

I saw a 406 (p1 I think) in Morrison's car park the other day which had different bumpers to the usual ones. They were slightly deeper and the rear had a slot with black plastic mesh like a 106 gti rear bumper. It didn't look modified at all.

This was a 4door saloon. It looked very good actually. Wondered if it was a le mans edition like the 405.

There was a settant anni special edition and the silver and black special editions for the coupe.

There's one round ny way too, ph1 in diablo.
Deaper rear bumper, deaper front with round fogs in the standard shape holes with filler plates. Think its skirts too.

I love TSW imolas. Without the w**ky plastic film fixings, the white 406 would look really good

The missus has managed to destroy the engine in the Jeep.
(I blame her, but I think my hate for that car came through)

Point being, she's now keen on a 406 coupe V6.

Is there any know big issues with this model? Any specific model worth looking out for?

She's going to try her luck against me off the lights one day, I hope my 6 performs!

Go for a d9 v6 manual. Or maybe rikkys in the for sale section. Your 6 should lose, standard on standard.
The coupe forum is very good and friendly

Depends if ill lose, 1 the missus is driving and 2, She'll probably want an auto...

Anyhow, you reckon the D9 is the better of them?

I'm in Australia, so shipping Rikky's might no be the best idea Smile

the d9 is newer and benefits from the VVT porsche-fettled engine, 10-15bhp more from memory

I love the 406 coupe but one thing that p**ses me off about it is the steering wheel. LOL Not sure why it annoys me so much but I think it would look much better with a 3-spoke wheel, something like that in the 6.

Presumably not a straight swap though?

Straight swap I'd imagine, though a D9 would probably throw a hissy fit, every pug I've messed with so far have been the same steering wheel spline.
