Has anyone brought Omex Ecu and wiring loom from these as not sure if will get all the right connectors ect Anyone help?

I'm thinking of buying just the Omex 600 ecu and wiring loom does it come with the base map you need to get it going and does the loom you get come complete with all you need to plug and play? |

Got my Omex from Jenvey, it can come as a basic wiring kit with pretty much the plug and some wires and you sort it all out yourself, great on a race car where you are probably replacing all of the wiring, but not so great for everyone else. The other option is a pre made universal loom, this is a professionally assembled plug and play harness with a main connector for the ecu, then everything from coolant/air temp sensors, ignition coil, injectors, throttle pot, rev counter, shift light and fuel pump. You will need to order the appropriate sensors if you don't have them. Are you going for bodies?________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. They will provide a base map if you give them the engine and cam details, and can usually e-mail it to you...As Jim says, the loom can come complete which is ideal if you are a novice, but does mean you may have excess wiring in places, or unterminated, so labelled cables fitted to the ecu plug, but no plugs for injectors, coil etc. You then have to cut those to length, crimp the terminals on and fit the terminals into the plastic housings. It's really pretty easy and will give a tidier finish. Yer going down the throttle bodies route .i brought them off a mate of mine ,I was going to buy the kit d.tweeks sell ,that's the option I was going to go for the universal pre made loom but was just wondering would that be all I need as new I'd need the sensors I.e t.p.s and a.t.s and coolent sensor |

Yet I'm a deffinatly novice to all this ,how much you reckon it will be to get someone to wire it up for me or is it more expensive then buying the pre made loom? |

The TPS is known as a colvern type,nd should come with the kit. Chances are you'll need a seperate single coil, rather than 4 individual ones, I think I used one from a 405, but theres loads about, although there are 2 different plug types, a 4 pin and a 3 pin I think. Coolant sensor you have is fine, you just tell the ECU to read that sensor, air temp should also come with the kit and again, you can tell the ECU what to read, probably best to mount it on the throttle body air filter backplate. I reckon i would take me a few hours to sort the loom out, and whilst I know what I'm doing, it's not like I do it everyday so an auto electrician should be less, so maybe £50-£60 for a couple of hours work? ________________________________________ Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 1Oulton Park in a BTCC 306 vid 2 Lap of the 'ring |

I got the inlet with the TB's which also the 90mm trumpets for £150 bargain.I was thinking of using a coil pack like ya said miles off a xsi.is wiring up the loom diffeant from phase 1-3 or they pretty much the same as mines a 3 |

The nearest mapper around my area is matt at m-tech and I've seen his work and looks pretty good but that's just the first I've seenSorry for dragging it out but these kinda things need to be done proply then cutting corners |

Miles what are ktec like for setting up bodies etc? Or is it just mapping they will do?I'm looking into bodies and cams soon, the only thing really stopping me was the fact I toughy I'd have to drive miles to get any help with mapping/setting up. |
