Na, this has been going around for years, not going to happen any time soon. A few things of note:1) It takes forever to put through new laws, especially ones that'd render millions of cars illegal, can't see that happening 2) The backlash, especially in this country, of such a change would be big enough to win or lose elections, so it'd be quite fiercely contended 3) We aren't as much a part of Europe as everyone else, so we tend to pick and choose a lot of the rules 4) Say this came in, in ten years time. Not unfeasible. By that point I can't see car modification being as popular as it is now anyway - insurance is only going to go up and up, tax on anything other than a super-green 1.3L diesel will be phenomenal, and fuel will be extortionate. I'd imagine that anyone into trackday cars will have then all SORN and trailer them everywhere. 5) A lot of the modifications people do are visual. I cannot see any reason why an MP would risk losing votes by banning that, it seems pointless. There's no benefit to doing so, and you'd turn an entire generation against you Not saying I'm right, it could just go through. Personally though, I can't see it happening. Look at the MOT think - a year ago we were all s**tting ourselves about our cars not getting through the "strict new EU MOT test", but I haven't heard of anyone else failing because of the new points yet despite us all being told we'd all fail and have to trailer our cars everywhere. Here's hoping, eh? ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

mind you, if it did come into force then there would be a resurgence in proper Motorsport maybe, for example Belgium and France have laws like this and have awesome rallying, makes our dicking about airfields between cones look positively s**te.but there's the closed roads issues, and nimby's, which don't seem to exist per se in other countries in such force. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

also things like trackdays and all the circuits i imagine would see a massive drop in numbers, motorsport places who sell bits would fall off the face of the earth, and bodyshops would all go bust as there is no fibreglass kits to fit anymorei think i might stop putting this gti6 engine into my 205 and stay inside biting my nails just kidding, carry on ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

Part of the reason why france can do stuff like this though probably comes down to them having a MASSIVELY low population density. Ours is 650 per square mile. Theirs 289. Close a couple of roads here and its game over traffic wise really. Granted the races could be in remote ish areas. but it must come into it. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Regardless of this happening, we should pull out of the EU and send all the Eastern Europeans home... Yes is a 'right wing' view but I am fed up of being second rate citizen because all these people other here taking jobs, HELLO I speak ENGLISH!! ...Back on topic. I could probably live with a 100% standard GTi6/Rallye, still better than my current car ________________________________________ I Live for the 306TEAM CHERRY PINK RALLYE 2008 BMW ///M 320d |

"Great" Britain has not been great since the left wing were allowed to have a go at running the place. Bring on the "right wing" as far as I'm concerned and make it the country it used to be once again. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |
