Morning Guys

I was wandering if any body has any roll cage dimensions as my step dad is a sh*t hot engineer and wants to have a go at making me a roll cage, but it would be a lot easier with some dimensions to work off or a diagram.

Does anybody have anything or know where i can find this?

Thanks

Mark

I'd be very surprised if you can find them anywhere tbh, for one thing it takes time and effort to get them so companies don't tend to bandy it about, for another, they will be different anyway depending on the machinery you are forming them on.

Grab the a copy of the Blue Book from the MSA (it's online), it gives you the specs of tube material, sizes, what they should be bent with (i.e - don't use an exhaust compression bender unless you intend to fill all the tubes with sand first), and basic designs.

Get enough people to want a cage, then go and buy a safety devices cage, make some jigs and get your step dad to bang a run of them out, split the costs and i'd call that a f***ing result!

Or just bend one up in the car...seeing as his bend radii aren't forced to be the same....

strip shell, stick on trailer and deliver to phillipM, wait a few weeks whilst he curses and swears at a 306, then pick up a pukka caged shell from phill ready for you to sick on its roof at a track of your choice Razz

Okay if you hammer it down and cap it, long tedious work though.

If you must do it that way you can get a water-soluble wax that you pour in, let set, then wash out after, can't remember the name though!

Are you making a half or a full cage? Of its only a half cage you literally only need one bent tube for the hoop, surely your old fella can manage one of those?
