Seems a lot of money for a repainted Beemer IMO.

Id prefer a standard one as well. Saying that, each to their own and all that.Thumbs up

E36 m3s are a lot cheaper to run. But the 46 m3s are epic.

you are always gonna spend big on them

i bought a well looked after one for £9k in estoril blue 6spd manual 3.2 evo with black vader interior. in 4 yrs it needed:

front springs, rear shockers rebuilding, rear top mounts, RTAB's, diff seals, fuel pump, front wing got kicked in by johnny dangerous, vanos unit got rebuilt twice, some sensor at the back of the head which the full engine got took out for because it needed drilling out and a new thread tapping in, and then i needed some new heater motor which was worth doing whilst engine was out.

don't try to run one on a budget

i had both. compared to my E46 m3 it felt more hardcore, less electric bo***cks but the E46 was built so much better and looked so much wider (my E46 had CSL suspension and was lowered a bit)

Awsome cars. Like has been said, though, you can get a tidy e36 328 for around a grand. I was looking at a few before I just bought my six.
Funnily enough, a guy at work as just offered me a 328 for a grand. Really well looked after and only use for his 5 mile round trip to work.

You'd better have thick forearms otherwise you'll come out of there with tennis elbow.

That's really horrible. The pictures themselves make me wary, never mind the horrible wheels.

If I was gonna get one, I'd be looking for a standard example. I much prefer the e36, but I know what Rikky is saying about the 46 being the better car.

With beemers, it comes down to the size of your wallet or credit limit. They seem to be one of those manufacturers where you really do get what you pay for on the 2nd hand market
