my local engineers say they will L&B my cast flywheel for £120, obviously how ever much they machine off it

isn't going to match a proper Lightened fly but surely its worth doing??? given the fact i need to change my

clutch and box this coming week. Lets just say that can lose 2 kg's, will i notice a difference?

fair play. Now you mention it, £120 to L&B and a further £40 to re surface clutch face,

obviously once these proper F/W's are fitted the engine will pick up quicker, but are there

any side effects, like loss of torque and dodgy idle?

I to have a Rich W flywheel and the pick up from lower rpm is much much better. In comparison the Rich W flywheel is half the weight of the O.E one IIRC.

Agreed, and the effect is even better when supercharged. Yes
I would strongly recommend buying one of these over getting your original one lightened and balanced. Thumbs up

^this.
Thing is the richw one is made out of better stuff that allows it to be lighter at little or no cost to strength.
A oe lightened one will always be weaker and the gains less as they are twice as heavy to start with.
Have you see what happens when a flywheel gives in?

Not nice.

flywheels scare me especially when they let loose at 7000rpm and cut your car in half
