i bought my car with a decatted magnex already fitted, it was way too noisy, i have fitted an o/e cat in the hope

it would subdue things a bit, but its still way too loud, the raspiness has gone but its still not my cuppa

other than fitting a standard system, what would be the best system to get, i want a sporty tone but not too

rowdy lol, i'm guessing a custom built system will be the answer here???...Its weird though, i had a magnex'd 6

few years back and to the best of my memory it was never like this one - weird!

On a good note though, since fitting the cat i have gained alot more low rpm torque

if youve got a good longlife franchise local, use them.

they will build it to your specifications and arent too expensive considering its fully stainless made to how you want it.

some will try to rip you off but others are genuinely sound.

another option would be to use a centre box/backbox with more baffles

magnex is awfull had it on my first 6 and was way to loud imo really boomy at motorway speeds etc which made me always drop to 5th as it was more bearable. ill either be going jetex or more than likely custom made to keep noise as low as pos. Allthough if you do go down the custom longlife/powerflow route check out there work first as have used both companys and various depots and the difference in quality was huge some of the welding in one of the powerflow dealers was terrible yet another was excellent

i was in a 6 lastnight that had a Mongoose system, sounded perfect, nice tone but not intrusive

i fancy getting a custom back box made for my magnex to hopfully do away with the awful boom

sounds great when your kicking the s**t out of it but day to day use, its unbearable

Shame the Jetex tailpipe looks like such a piece of s**t!

Ideally, you want the sound of a Jetex with the magnex 3'' tailpipe as it looks awesome imo

My Magnex system fits perfectly?

Maybe yours wasn't right for the model of car or something? I am using the 4" backbox and it sits directly in the centre of the valance cut out, with the rest of the system residing in exactly the place where it's supposed to. Yes
