Air filter looks big enough for 250bhp forced induction IMO. Could perhaps do with some kind of heat shield above the rad.

Good luck mate, look forward to hearing the results Smile

The air filter isn't actually staying there. It's only there because my Hose for it hasn't arrived yet. It will go
Behind the rad in a similar position to the Lynx kit so I'll make a shield for it then

A friend of mine has a Miata turbo and when he changed the small filter (about the size of yours) he gained 20 hp, from 220 bhp to 240 bhp.

Just a tip.

Great project thread mate, looking good hope all goes well tomorrow,
I'm doing a similar thing with my china 6, I have a question tho, Ive noticed your using omex management with yours and was wondering if you have to use stand alone management with this type of conversion, I'm dreading the answer because I was planning on using the existing ecu and having that mapped, and now I'm not sure that's possible? So I guess I'm asking is it? Does anybody have any info on this pls?

Apparently there is a guy who can remap the standard ecu and modify it to see boost but I'm not too convinced. I'm using standalone because virtually every man and his dog can remap them.

Ok thanks guys, I've heard good things about Wayne, just didn't know if it was using standard ecu, long way away from me tho, maybe I can find somewhere closer, or may be more cost effective to just go with him, having done it loads and someone else might get it wrong? I'll think on that.

Thing is if you go with a common aftermarket ecu like omex, there's less to go wrong and if
They do, there is after support which is very good.
Also you can have some funky features like full throttle gear shift and launch control lol

Mine was £550 delivered brand new then £80 for a loom and mapping can be had for anywhere between £300 and £600

Cool think I will be having these added on to mine whan I go in for mapping.
Looking good this, definatley different to any other, hope it all comes out well tomorrow. Where are you off to for mapping? Live map or rolling road mapping?

Track n Road in Rainham so a rolling road. Just got the car transporter sorted and got to be out by 8am. And there was me looking forward to a lie in on my day off LOL Not the cheapest but have a very very good reputation!

Yeah i love messing about with the omex software. Does give you all the data you could need!

Where do you get the program? Can you download it straight from the omex site? Will be handy to have

Track and road mapped my turbo 6, at £550 was not cheap but was the best thing I ever did to the car, it made it driveable and gave me back the confidence in it. Highly recommended by myself and a few other mates I know.
